A couple of weeks ago, I presented at the Petaluma Riverside Chats. My thanks to Jessica McCreedy for inviting me to do this presentation again. I thank all participants for their questions and responses.
The goal for this presentation was to provide a commentary on the science, social history, metaphysics and pedagogy involved with force curves. At the end of the day, I think that there is more to execution, teaching and understanding the stroke than just the pure science of biomechanics, and I hope the presentation conveys that. But, take a look and let me know what you think.
My continued thanks to Peter Mallory and the late Cas Rekers (inventor of the RowPerfect) for their support in providing the machine generated and digitally captured force curves used in this presentation.
Update: you can now view the complete The Sport of Rowing by Peter Mallory at worldrowing.com. I invite you to come to your own conclusions.
